Our Final Day
The Show by Audrey O’Connor
This was our last day with EE and we put on a show for our parents and the other groups at Epic Arts. My partner’s name was Rott. He is deaf. I got to do a special duet with him and I really liked it. At first it was hard because he is a really good dancer and I had to look in his eyes but once I got used to it, I really enjoyed it. He is quite handsome.
Our Final Day by Rachel Sugrim
We got up, got ready and went to our last and final workshop with epic encounters. We got more ideas to complete our scenes for Speed of Life. We were helped a lot by our Director Alison Richardson and Dean Walsh our Choreographer. The most thing I will remember and take away is the sign language, the framing, sinking and rising, story telling, dancing, going to different locations, focusing on speed/time and making new friends with the Epic Encounters team and the Epic Arts staff. By the end of the morning workshop we were all tired and sweaty. We had lunch and then back to the workshop to shot the Epic Arts staff, parents, carers and some students from Singapore. I wish my dad was here to see the showing, I am really missing him a lot. I was happy that I really challenged myself and making friends with the Encounters group. We then went for dinner and back to the hotel for dessert. Tomorrow we start making our way home to Sydney.

Last day with Epic Arts and Epic Encounters by Chris Bunton
I really enjoyed our collaboration and sharing ideas during our exchange with the Epic Encounters. It was a great week facilitating workshops with Industry professional’s and Epic Encounters.
When the workshops were completed I felt very sad and, the workshops took six days. But at the end of the week we were jammed packed full of great ideas.
There were some differences between both groups such as:
– Communicating in Khmer and Sign Language
– Collaborating timing
– Tunes on different instruments and the moves.
Our exchange with Epic Encounters gave us lots of ideas, methods and techniques for future shows. These ideas will help us generate more material which will help us create the final stage of our show.
Some of the ideas are listed below:
Movement
– Fast, slow and medium pace
– Forwards and backwards
– Forces and
– Motions
Sound
– Tempo, rhythms, melodies
– Timing and speed
– Musical Instruments
– Dialogue
Voice/Dialogue
– Tones and Monologues
Writing
– Stories
